Fiberglass Pool Installation Timeline
What to Expect When You Install a New Pool
When you’re ready to install a new pool, understanding the timeline can help you plan ahead and feel confident about the process.
At Nate’s Pools & Service, we specialize in fiberglass pool installations that are efficient and tailored to your backyard vision.
Here’s what you can expect from start to splash.
Step 1: Design & Planning (1–2 Weeks)
Before any digging begins, we’ll meet with you to design the perfect pool for your space and goals. From shape and size to add-ons like tanning ledges, spas, or water features, we’ll help you customize the right fiberglass pool model. We’ll also conduct a site visit to assess access, terrain, and utilities. Once everything is approved, we order your pre-molded fiberglass shell and secure any necessary permits.
Step 2: Excavation & Site Prep (2–3 Days)
Once the shell is ready for delivery, we’ll schedule excavation. Our team will carefully dig the hole, prepare the base, and make sure your site is level and secure. Proper excavation is key to ensuring long-term stability and drainage.
Step 3: Pool Shell Delivery & Placement (1 Day)
The exciting part begins when your fiberglass pool shell arrives. We’ll use a crane or other equipment to lower the shell into place. Because fiberglass pools are pre-formed, this step happens quickly and with minimal disruption to your yard.
Step 4: Plumbing, Backfill & Equipment Setup (2–4 Days)
Next, we connect the plumbing, including skimmers, jets, drains, and water lines. As we backfill around the pool shell, we fill the interior with water simultaneously to ensure equal pressure and prevent shifting. During this stage, we’ll also install your pump, filter, heater (if applicable), and any additional equipment.
Step 5: Decking & Surround Finishing (1–2 Weeks)
Now that your pool is in place and functioning, it’s time to finish the area around it. Whether you choose pavers, concrete, tile, or custom decking, our team ensures it complements your pool’s shape and style.
Step 6: Final Inspection & Pool School (1 Day)
Before your first swim, we’ll perform a final inspection to ensure everything meets safety and installation standards. Then we’ll walk you through how to maintain your pool, use your equipment, and keep everything running smoothly. You’ll be swimming in no time.
